Myers Dance Center Summer Dance Programs - 2012

Summer Dance Intensive Day Program

Dates: Jul 9 - Aug 3,  Monday to Friday,  at two locations

Disciplines studied: Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Pilates, Pointe (level appropriate), Choreography, Stretch and Movement

Age Range: 8 and up

Skill Level: There will be two levels to accommodate appropriate age and technical levels.

Summer Evening Ballet Classes

Dates:  June 11 - Aug 17,  Monday to Thursday, at two locations

Age Range: 14 and up

Saratoga Studio Day Classes

Dates:  July 16 - Aug 3

Various classes are offered:

 Introduction to Dance for ages 4 - 7

Adult Stretch

School of the Performing Arts Presents... 2012 Summer Academy at Proctors

Broadway Dance

Artistic Advisor: Darlene Myers

Dates: Jul 30 - Aug 3,  Monday to Friday,  from 1 - 5 pm

Get Moving like the Broadway Stars! A week full of master classes focused on technique, style, and musicality, ranging from ballet to jazz, will help you infuse your dance with passion, artistry and character. Combinations will focus on musical theatre style and story telling through dance. At the end of the week, students will study with actor, director, and choreographer Freddy Ramirez (from Broadway's Grease) and then present their work for parents and friends in a small performance.

Age Range: 9 - 13

Skill Level: Prior dance training required for inrollment into the program. Performance experience would be helpful but not required.

Faculty: Marcus Rogers, Bruce Williams and Freddy Ramirez* Subject to Change.

Tuition: $250   Location:  Mainstage

Scholarships are available for the 2012-2013 school year.
Scholarship applications are due May 15th, 2012.

The Raymond C. Myers Scholarship provides full tuition to one
of the talented students of the school.

The Joan Gould Scholarship is presented to a deserving dancer
and covers the cost of tuition, dancing attire, and footwear
 needs for the entire year (including summer program).

The William Komp Scholarship provides one dedicated male
student classroom attire and footwear for the year.

Myers Ballet School and Northeast Ballet is located at 418 Liberty Street, Schenectady.

Northeast Ballet is the resident dance company of Proctor's Theatre, Schenectady New York.
